'Order of the Phoenix' Finished Says J.K. Rowling

"Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has uttered the words every fan of her books has been waiting for - the fifth part of the magical saga is finished. The pregnant writer has revealed that the new book, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, is longer than the fourth tome, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, by one chapter. She says, "At the moment it's 38 chapters. I'm really pleased with it. I'm just going to tweak it a tiny bit more, then the publishers will have it." The eagerly-awaited book will be out in shops within five months while the second film adaptation, Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, will hit cinemas on November 15."

J K reveals 'bad death' coming in Book 5

"Harry Potter author J K Rowling has revealed for the first time that there's a major death in the next Potter adventure. She also said that the almost finished fifth book is much darker in tone than the previous stories.

Speaking to Lizo at the world premiere of The Chamber of Secrets she described what was in store in The Order of the Phoenix. "It is dark," she said. "There's a bad death in it that I haven't enjoyed writing."

J K also said that the book now looked like being even longer than Goblet of Fire. She said: "At the moment it's 38 chapters." That's a chapter longer than the last book!

She's now putting the finishing touches to the manuscript which she says is just "weeks away" from being delivered to her publishers. "I'm really pleased with it," she said. '[I'm] just going to tweak it a tiny bit more, then the publishers will have it."

The book should hopefully be ready in the shops sometime next year."

First of all, I didn't realize that J.K. Rowling was pregnant... then again, given how little I pay attention to mainstream media these days, I suppose that's not too surprising.

I'm still betting that the big death will be Dumbledor. It just makes the most sense to me. (Although I'll be sad to see him go; he's one of my favourite characters.)

And Lupin had better be back. He just has to make another appearance... or two... or three... or...

(For those who didn't read them the first time around, here is an old entry in which I made a bunch of HP theories.)

Dumbledore?? Nah, it's Snape who's getting whacked-- Voldemort even says so in book four. Betcha a pack of Twizzlers. (Though, I do secretly hope I'm wrong....)

And Lupin will be back. That much is certain.

I heard that Hagrid's supposed to get the ax in Book Five, but Snape's red right hand is about to be uncovered, methinks. (Andrea noticed Delirium Tremens amidst my CD collection and wanted to listen to it.)

Ah, Nick Cave. He has enriched the lives of so many.

You know, I think I'm starting to dread this fifth book.

You're on ^_-

As long as Lupin doesn't come back just to die, that is...

Yeah, I've heard that theory too. Then again, the HP Death Pool seems to include just about every character in the series, including Harry. (Which seems a bit ludicrous to me... how can one have a seven-volum Harry Potter series if Harry get's killed in the fith book?)

Well, I think Harry's going to end up dying, but definitely not until Book Seven.
