Weird. A few weeks back, I thought my computer had died. I was online one day when it froze up completely. When I tried to reboot, the power came on, but Windows never loaded; it just sat there doing nothing. I didn't think too much of it; it is about six years old, which is about the average lifespan for a PC desktop.

My new computer should be arriving in the mail some time later this week. The main reason I waited so long was because I kept going back and forth over what I wanted to get. I ended up deciding on a Mac this time around, but then I had to figure out what components I wanted on it, and then I kept arguing with myself about the price. ("Argh! I could get a PC for a fraction of the price!" "But it's a better computer, especially for art-related activities, and they don't get viruses as easily!" "But... the cost!" "You can afford it, damnit!")

I turned it on today in the hopes that I could coax the CD drive open and get a disc out, when, much to my surprise, everything came up.

Well, I needed a new computer anyway, and at least I can transfer my images and music so that I don't lose them this time around. (One of these days I will learn to start backing stuff up. Really.)
