This is a tattoo design I did a little while ago for a coworker. She wanted a Dia de los Muertos skull with a flower on the side. Because her skin tone would prevent colors from showing up well, she asked for it to be in black and white. I did some initial designs, and she decided that she liked the 3/4 view with a rose the best. While I was working on more designs, she was looking at tattoos online, and found ones with flowers around the skull and another with butterflies, so she asked me to incorporate those elements.
These next two images are actually a couple of years old. I was going through some old papers and found them, so I decided to scan them in as well.
This was a holiday card that I drew back in '08 that I meant to send out to my family. I can't remember why I didn't... I think work got too hectic, and by the time things had calmed down, I had misplaced the drawing.
Yes, I know that I screwed up the beak. I have a bad habit of not using reference pictures that I really need to get out of.
A couple of years back, I wanted to do a series of drawings of fantasy creatures, goblins and trolls in particular. Like most of my projects, it was abandoned. While I like how the goblin turned out, I'm not very happy with the background. It should have been smoother, and in hindsight I think I should have used cooler colors to help make the goblin really stand out. Parts of the goblin (the ears and nose in particular) were inspired by Blix from the movie Legend.
