(These are tears of joy, don't worry...)

When I brought my cat back in to the vet the other day, she was actually looking a bit better than she had been. She was (and is) perkier, more alert and responsive. (One thing that really scared me a few nights ago was how listless she was. She didn't respond to me at all. I didn't even get a response out of her with catnip, which she normally goes nuts for.) I was wary about getting my hopes up too high, though.

The vet said that she looked better and her weight had not dropped any more, which was a good sign. He gave her another shot to reinforce the previous one and help her feel better. Still, I asked if we could do some bloodwork to see if it was her kidneys (or liver) that was the problem.

The results came in this morning. I called the office, but the vet was in surjury. The receptionist told me that he did want to talk to me, and that he would call me back when he had the time.

Needless to say, I was on pins and needles.

You cannot imagine the relief I felt when he told me, "I have good news!"

Her kidneys and liver are just fine. Her blood sugar level was a bit high, but that was most likely due to the stress from the car rides and vet visits. He told me to keep an eye on her, and inform him right away if anything else happens.

Thank you so much to all of you that sent your sympathies in my previous entry. It really meant a lot to me, especially knowing that I'm not some weirdo because I care so much about my cat. Seriously, your replies helped me a lot when I was feeling extremely blue.

I'm crying again, but this time out of pure joy... Oh, I know the day will come eventually when I have to say goodbye, but I'm grateful to have even a little more time with her.

And you can be sure that I will appreciate every moment of it.
