Checking my Inbox again... which means deleting the 30 pieces of spam that have accumilated within the last ten hours or so. (The filters manage to catch most of it, but when 30 letters in ten hours is the minority, you know there's a problem.) A message subject, written in all capital letters catches my eye.

ARE YOU BEING HASSLED BY CREDITORS????

No, but I am being hassled by spammers. GO AWAY!

I'm not in debt. I have no morgage bills to lower. I have no urge to try online gambling. I'm never interested in the kind of porn that they send me, and what the hell does a 21-year-old female need Viagra for?

Honestly. Tell me where I can get a discount on anime DVDs, and you might catch my interest. Inform me that your pay-site has loads of smutty Kunzite x Zoisite doujinshi images, and I'll actually consider paying for access. And for the Gods' sakes, don't send me five identical emails in a row! If I didn't want it the first time, I'm not going to want it the next four times.

I know spammers are supposed to include a 'remove me from this mailing list' address. However, most of them are fake and even if it is a legitimate email, it just confirms to them that your account is active. It seems like the best thing to do is merely grit your teeth and delete the buggers.

Speaking of email, I did end up sending a letter off to the person mentioned in my previous entry. I got a reply (of sorts) today. AOL returned my message with a note saying that the address I was trying to send it to was invalid. Oh, well.
