Summer Vacation Possibility

My sister has a friend out in San Diego and wants to go visit her this summer. However, she doesn't like travelling alone, so she asked me to go with her.

(Like I need an excuse to go to California?)

Now I just need to get the money... I'm wondering if driving would be cheaper. We both agreed that we wanted to go to Colma to visit our grandparents' graves, and I'd like to spend a day in San Fransisco or Berkley. (And I have a friend who moved to the L.A. area about a year ago that I could go pester.) So driving would also save us the trouble of renting a car.

I'd need... hmmm... at least $400 in gas money. $200+ if my sister pays for half... as long as the gas prices are about the same as they are here. That's for a round-way trip plus some driving around once we get there. We don't have to worry about a place to stay since my sister's friend has told us we're welcome at her place.

This is certainly tempting. Of course, I've already promised to try to go down to Virginia and visit a couple of friends. I'd need more money (and time off) for that as well.

I guess it's a good thing that I'm getting a second job for the summer. Still, it's something I'll have to think about a bit.

Perhaps we could go kidnap kunzgita while I'm down there. And isn't travellyr heading in that direction as well? If I time things just right, then maybe all four of us could wreak havoc and chaos on southern California... *wicked grin*

YES! chibi-kidnapping and Travchan snuggling! Maybe we could all go to Balboa Park and we could ALL see the infamous Giant Turtle of Doooooom that Steffybug and I saw last time!

And we will have ICE CREAM.

Ooh... this sounds like it could be fun.

Damnit, don't get my hopes up too high... this idea is still very hypothetical at the moment. But I will do my best to pull it off, just watch...
