Well, the first review for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets has appeared. I must admit, reading this really spurred my interest in seeing the movie.

I would have seen it anyway, even if every person on the planet was ranting about how bad it was, but I just haven't had that thrill that I did when the first movie was approaching. Perhaps it's because that was the first and as a result was full unknown elements to spur my curiosity. Or maybe it's simply the fact that this book ranks at the bottom of my list for the series. It's not a bad book by any means, and it certainly fleshes out some elements that will become more important as time goes on. However, it still has an in-between type of feel.

It's a pity that Prisoner of Azkaban won't be out until 2004, however. I dearly want to see Remus Lupin in the flesh. (And I've heard a lot of good things about the new director, so I'm intrigued about how he will influence the series.) Not to mention the fact that the third book is my favourite so far and, as far as I'm concerned, is a majour turning point in the series. Still, at least I'll have the fith book to keep me content.

(When my excitement is generated by a literary series for children, I start to realize that I really need to get a Life.)
