I'm not going to post my thoughts on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yet, because I'm still digesting everything.

Goddamn, I learned a lot in this volume.

And goddamn, JKR made me cry. Again.

I just finished the book, and, like an addict finally given a fix, I'm still riding the high. I can't give you an unclouded response right now. As such, I'm not going to say anything else unit I can examine it with a sober mind.

Yeah, I think I need a good hug after that, too. I wasn't as upset about this death as I was with the previous one. Not only was I anticipating it, but he also had a much longer, happier life than Sirius. Plus, he had his good name restored before he kicked the bucket, which was nice. What breaks my heart is the effect this will have on not just Harry, but the entire cast as a whole.

I took my time with it, I only just finished this afternoon. I think it will take me a day or two to process anything before I talk about it on my LJ.

It's definately an intense book. Part of me wants to post my response right now, but I don't think I've worked out how I feel about a few issues, so I may have to wait a day or so myself. I'll be very interested to read your review when you post it.

On the plus side, JKR appears to be setting Remus up for a Happy Ending. I hope so. The poor man has had enough go wrong in his life as it is; he deserves some happiness.
