Hello Again

Woooo... it's been a while, eh? I missed quite a bit while I was away, but a lot has also been going on. For starters, I am no longer living in Michigan. I am currently sitting in my brand new (well, new to me) apartment in San Diego, California.

I finally made it out here.

My parents (who are helping me haul all of my stuff and getting me settled) and I arrived here at about 5:30 am on Monday. Less than 12 hours later I had found an apartment and was able to move in on Tuesday. All that's left to unpack is some boxes of books... I just need to get another bookshelf first.

(Next time, I'm going to make sure that I have the money to hire someone to move my crap. Thank the gods my place is on the ground floor. Stairs and lots of boxes of books do not make for a pleasant combination.)

Now the job search begins. Luckily, I have enough money saved up to last me a while, and if I can't find a position in a hospital right away, I can always look into a retail or service job to tide me over.

The transition was more difficult than I had anticipated. Anyone who knows me is aware that I have been wanting to get back out here for quite some time. However, I am very close to my friends and immediate family, and this move puts a lot of physical distance between us.

Still, it's something that I need to do. It will be good for me. Besides, there's no rule that states I have to stay here if things don't work out.

Hey, that's very good!
The first dive in the unknown / uncertainty is always the worst (in a series, that is). So yeah, as you say, you don't have to stay if it doesn't work out.
But no matter what, you'll at least know if it's possible.
