Like an adict, I've been twitchy all morning while I wait for the seventh HP book to be delivered. The mail carrier doesn't usually get here until about 12:30, so I knew I'd have a bit of a wait.
In order to keep myself occupied, I've been aimlessly wandering the internet, avoiding sites where I might inadvertantly find spoilers. A minute ago, if occurred to me to check the delivery status on Amazon. After I logged on, I found the following message:
Items not yet shipped: Delivery estimate: July 28, 2007 - July 31, 2007 1 of: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) Sold by: Amazon.com, LLC
Whaa...? Not yet shipped? What do you mean it won't be arriving for another bloody week?
Goddamn it. There's no way I'm going to be able to avoid any and all spoilers for a week. I don't want to buy another copy of the book, and I've been so eagerly awaiting the release, that waiting will be pure torture. I just don't know what to do.
And I refuse on principle to download that blurry, illegal copy.
What I would do is go ahead and buy a copy at the bookstore and keep the receipt. Then when your amazon.com copy comes, just bring that unread copy back to the store and get a refund or exchange it for another book.
I managed to nab a copy at Borders earlier today. The line was insane! It snaked all around the store, and I was terrified that they'd be sold out by the time I got to the register.
Someone was on my side, though.
I went ahead and cancelled the Amazon order instead.
I'm about 2/3 of the way through the book right now. I'm just taking a brief break before I finish it. ^_^ (Remus! *squee* Sorry, there's something about him that just brings out the fangirl in me.)
I'm still reading it too. I can't believe how fast some of my friends have gone through it! I could only read the first chapter when I got home last night, I was just too tired to go on.
I didn't actually sit down and start reading until this afternoon. I just finished chapter 11 and am taking a break too. :)
