GORE VIDAL. *snrk* I like him calling Peter "Rocky." AND NERO. *cracks up*
... Read Lincoln and see if you, too, do not worship William Seward. Seward is one of the few historical characters I can think of who reads HISTORICALLY ACCURATELY in a novel. He really WAS that witty and clever. Yeeeee!
*grins* Oh, yes... that part with Nero was delightful. And Timothy... no one ever listened when he told them that A) he really prefered women to men, and B) if he was going to have sex with a man, he'd rather be on top. Poor little uke... ^^
*makes a note* I'll see about picking up a copy of Lincoln the next time I have money for books. And I'll be sure to keep an eye out for Seward. ^____^
I wanted to post a private message to you concerning what you just wrote in Liberal back at that guy who's been jumping all over us. Your manifesto, of sorts. It was a truly awesome response. You were even-keeled and articulate, yet passionate. As a lesbian myself, the last thing I was looking for when I posted the original message asking for some good news was people like him. I was looking for people like you. Thanks so much!!!
I feel bad that your post, which was supposed to be about finding a way to cheer you up, ended up as a big debate. If it makes you feel any better, I am certain that gay marriages will become a reality eventually. Probably not this year, and maybe not the next one, but within the near future. Our society has been steadily moving in that direction for decades.
And I'm glad that I was able to help you in some way. ^__^
That's it. Between my friend princenarcissus and your rave review on "Live From Golgotha", I'm gonna have to check him out. I'm planning a venture to Borders this evening!
